Top 5 new vans for the industry
1. New Ford E-Transit Custom van
The Ford E-Transit Custom van demonstrates Ford’s commitment towards electric transition. With a fully electric range of up to 236 miles (WLTP), you can drive further than ever before.
With the new electric van, you get to choose from two power motor outputs: 100kW or 160kW. The medium van also features fast DC charging, enabling you to recharge from 15-80% in just 41 minutes.
The E-Transit Custom van has a payload capacity of up to 1,100kg. You’ll also get a load volume ranging from 5.8-9.0m3.
The benefits of the Ford E-Transit Custom van include:
- New LED headlights
- Diamond-patterned grille with an ‘E’ badge
- Free 12-month Blue Oval Charging Network subscription
You can order the van from spring 2024. Prices are likely to begin at £39,500 (excl. VAT). For additional support, the new E-Transit Custom is eligible for the Government’s Plug-in Van Grant, saving you up to £5,000.
2. New Renault Master van
The new Renault Master van will be available in 2024. This large van is likely to have a sleek, modern look, inspired by the Renault Kangoo model.
Wheelbase lengths include short wheelbase (SWB), medium wheelbase (MWB), and long wheelbase (LWB). The short wheelbase offers you a tighter turning circle and cornering capabilities in low speeds. Plus, there may also be an extra-long model available.
With the new Renault Master model, you’ll also get an electric van version. Meanwhile, the diesel engine versions will also be available in 2024.

3. New Volkswagen Transporter van
Volkswagen has announced its new Transporter van. This medium-sized van will feature technology from Ford. While it may feature some Ford characteristics, the van will have its own unique Volkswagen design.
There’s likely to be a 2.0-litre diesel engine available. Plus, the new Volkswagen e-Transporter should offer a longer electric range compared to its predecessor.
The benefits of the new Volkswagen Transporter van are expected to include:
- Payload capacity of around 1,100kg
- Approximately 2,000kg towing capability
- Flat cabin floor

4. New Ford All-Electric E-Transit Courier van
Expanding Ford’s electric van family, the All-Electric E-Transit Courier will soon be here.
Choose from a fully electric powertrain or an efficient diesel or petrol engine. The latter features an innovative mild hybrid technology. The 100% electric E-Transit Courier has 100kW electric motor. You can also gain up to 54 miles by charging the van for just 10 minutes.
Benefits of the new Ford All-Electric T-Transit Courier van include:
- Wider load area for more space
- 100kg more payload compared to current Transit Courier
- 12-inch SYNC 4 infotainment system

5. New Citroen Relay van
The new Citroen Relay will feature both style and specification updates. You can now choose from multiple powertrain options. If you opt in for the 2.2-litre diesel engine, there’s two powers on offer: 140bhp and 180bhp. Plus, the BlueHDi 140 and 180 feature an eight-speed automatic transmission.
With the Citroen e-Relay, you can drive further with the 110kWh battery, offering up to 261 miles (WLTP) of fully electric range. Charge your van up to 80% in just 55 minutes with a rapid charger.
Benefits of the new Citroen Relay van include:
- Payload of up to 2,000kg, and 1,500kg for the e-Relay
- An optional 7-inch all-digital instrument cluster
- 360-degree parking radar
The Citroen Relay will be available to order in 2024.
