Vansdirect and the British Touring Car Championship

We are proud to have joined forces with Team BRISTOL STREET MOTORS as the EXCELR8-run team chases success on track in the British Touring Car Championship.

Having previously worked with the team in both 2021 and 2022, we are excited to cheer the team on as it battles for championship honours in Britain’s premier racing series.

You can watch all the action on YouTube (qualifying) and then on ITV4, ITVX or TikTok on race day.

  • About EXCELR8

EXCELR8 Motorsport was founded back in 2010 to compete in the MINI CHALLENGE and following years of success on track and numerous championship titles, graduated to the BTCC for the first time in 2019.

The following year saw the team introduce a new car into the championship as it brought the Hyundai name into the BTCC first time, choosing the i30 Fastback N as its weapon of choice thanks to its favourable combination of wheelbase, track width and drag co-efficient.

It turned EXCELR8 into regular contenders for top tens in a highly-competitive field and having scored a first win in 2021, the 2022 campaign saw EXCELR8 emerge on top of the pile to secure the championship title with Tom Ingram.

Winning the title in just year four of the programme ensured that the team firmly cemented its position amongst the elite on the UK racing scene.

Heritage & History

The British Touring Car Championship was launched back in 1958 and as well as being the premier race series in the UK, is known and loved around the globe.

From the very start, fans have been drawn in by the opportunity to enjoy action-packed racing between cars that they can relate to from their road-going counterparts whilst the access to the star names is unrivalled.

Such is the popularity of the series that trackside attendance figures are beaten only by Formula 1 and MotoGP.

When it comes to watching from home however, the BTCC is far more accessible with every race being shown free-to-air without the need for a subscription and – from 2024 – via TikTok in a world first deal.

Race Schedule

A BTCC season features ten events at eight of the leading circuits in the UK, running from Donington Park in late April through to Brands Hatch in early October. Each of those ten race meetings includes three action-packed BTCC races and a busy package of support race to provide fans with maximum entertainment and astonishing entertainment - with a day trackside being comparable price wise to an afternoon watching a rugby or football match.
