Volkswagen Reveals Details Of New Transporter

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has announced details on pricing and specification for the Transporter T7, with order books opening in January 2025.

Prices will start from £30,995 for the diesel powered vehicle and from £41,965 for the electric version (excluding VAT and OTR costs), with three different diesel options and two electric powertrains being available at launch.

A plug-in hybrid version utilising Volkswagen’s eHybrid technology will then follow in 2026.

The T7 will be available as a basic panel van as well as in Kombi, Shuttle and double-cab chassis versions, and in both short and long wheel base. Commerce, Commerce Plus and Commerce Pro are the three trim options being offered in the UK with a maximum payload of 1.33 tonnes being 0.13 tonnes more than the model it will replace.

Details on specification for the different variants have also been confirmed as below. 

The Panel Van Commerce TDI includes:

• 16-inch steel wheels
• LED headlights with separate LED daytime running lights
• Black grained bumpers in front and rear
• Power-adjustable and separately heated exterior mirrors
• Rear wing doors
• Sliding door on front passenger side
• Rubber floor covering in cab
• Six-way adjustable driver seat, with manually adjustable two-way lumbar support
• Multi-function steering wheel
• 12-inch digital drivers display
• 13-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Wireless App Connect and DAB radio
• Cruise control system with predictive speed limited
• Rear parking sensors
• Electronic engine immobiliser
• Keyless Start without SAFELOCK 

Commerce Plus TDI adds:

• Body-coloured bumpers in front and rear
• Body-coloured exterior mirror housings and door handles
• Steel spare wheel
• Leatherette-wrapped multi-function steering wheel
• Parking sensors front and rear
• Rear view camera
• Mud flaps in front and rear
• Keyless Start with SAFELOCK
• Anti-theft alarm system, interior monitoring, backup horn, and towing protection

Commerce Pro TDI adds equipment including:

• 16-inch silver alloy wheels “Montreal”
• Exterior mirrors, power-adjustable, heated and power-folding
• Heated seats, individually controllable
• Single-zone air conditioning system with automatic control in cab
• Wireless mobile phone charging
• Additional USB-C charging ports (1x in dashboard storage compartment, 1x in glove compartment, 1x rear view mirror)
• Adaptive Cruise control system with predictive speed limiter (includes Traffic Jam Assist on automatic gearboxes)
• Blind Spot Assist and exit warning system
• Laminated windshield made of heat-reflecting glass, heated
• Three additional super-bright LED lights in load compartment
• 12-V outlet on D-pillar at the bottom, rear right 

The Commerce Plus BEV variant adds the following to the Panel Van Commerce TDI equipment:

• Heated seats, individually controllable
• Single-zone air conditioning system with automatic control in cab
• Heat pump
• Electric auxiliary heater
• Tyre mobility kit in lieu of spare wheel: 12-volt compressor and tyre sealant
• All-season tyres

The Commerce Pro BEV adds:

• Leatherette-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, heated
• Heat pump
• Electric auxiliary heater
• Tyre mobility kit in lieu of spare wheel: 12-volt compressor and tyre sealant
• All-season tyres
