Updated Mercedes eVito Electric Van Gets Longer Range, More Power
Mercedes-Benz has added a new more powerful and longer-range battery powertrain to its electric eVito mid-size van range.
Slotting in as the flagship electric option in the Mercedes eVito line-up, the upgraded 90kWh battery comes in two versions: either with an 85kW peak output or in more powerful 150kW guise.
The 90kWh eVito represents a substantial increase in battery capacity over the existing 60kWh eVito, which will be sold alongside the newer version.
As a result, Mercedes is quoting a significant improvement in WLTP range of up to 298 miles (480km), bringing closer into line with other pure electric vans, such as the VW ID.Buzz Cargo and upcoming Kia PV5.
When specified with the more powerful 150kW eVito guise, torque rises to 365Nm.
The eVito’s dimensions remain unchanged meaning it is available in two lengths – 5140mm long and 5390mm extra-long – with up to 6.6m3 of loading volume available.
Features include a water-cooled AC on-board charger (OBL) with a charging capacity of 11kW – ideal for charging devices and small generators – while a DC rapid charging station of up to 110kW can achieve a 10-80% charge in approximately 40 minutes.
Specifications of the updated Mercedes eVito include numerous safety functions, such as attention assist, headlamp assist with rain sensor, blind spot assist, active lane keeping assist, intelligent speed assist and revering camera.
The eVito also comes with Mercedes’ own MBUX multimedia system, complete with a 10.25-inch central display and 5.5-inch colour display in the instrument cluster.
