Depending on your business, you may have certain requirements for your van. If you're based in, or your work involves a lot of city travelling - your needs will differ from other users.
The Shortest Small Vans
Chances are that your journeys will be shorter, with a lot of busy traffic to negotiate. Getting through the carnage is a lot easier with small vans, so here are five of the shortest in our range - perfectly suited to tiny loading bays and tight parking spaces.
Peugeot Bipper, 3864mm
Along with the Fiat Fiorino and Citroen Nemo, the Peugeot Bipper is the shortest van in our range. Surprisingly, it's even shorter than car-derived vans such as the Ford Fiestavan and Vauxhall Corsavan. If you're ever in the city, you'll notice the increased numbers of these vans. Its short length makes it easy to manoeuvre, and despite being one of the smallest vans on the market, provides a load volume of 2.8 cubic metres and can carry over a half-tonne of cargo.
Ford Fiestavan, 3950mm
A van based on a small hatchback car was always going to make this list. It's pretty much a car, albeit with the rear seats and windows taken out to make way for a load area. Due to the Fiestavan being car-derived, load volume is just 1 cubic metre. Payload doesn't suffer as badly; the Fiestavan can accommodate loads up to 495kg in weight.
Vauxhall Corsavan, 3999mm
The fact that there are not just one, but TWO car-derived vans longer than the Peugeot/Citroen/Fiat triplets highlights the great job that's been done with the compact van. There's not actually that much difference between the Corsavan and Fiestavan. Vauxhall's van has a slightly smaller profile, meaning that its load volume is just 0.92 cubic metres, although it can carry almost 100kg more weight than Ford's car-derived van.
Ford Transit Courier, 4157mm
By far the newest van on the list, the Ford Transit Courier was spawned in 2013 as Ford broke up the Transit range to cover more market segments. Its name is rather apt, in that it's perfectly suited to multi-drop, city-based couriers. A flexible bulkhead extends to load area from 1.9 to 2.6 cubic metres, while payload is the best among the vans on this list, at 663kg.
Renault Kangoo, 4282mm
The Kangoo is Renault's answer to the Bipper/Fiorino/Nemo partnership. It's a slightly bigger van and as a result offers a bigger loadspace than its rivals, at 3 cubic metres. The Kangoo can also carry more cargo with a max limit of 650kg. The Kangoo differs from the rest in that it offers a longer version, the 'Maxi', which provides a load volume of up to 4.6 metres and carries up to 800kg of cargo. Great figures for a small van!
