Peugeot Expert Sport Sprinkles Le Mans Magic For New Flagship
Peugeot has revealed a racy new flagship that will slot in at the top of the range of the firm’s mid-size commercial offering, the Peugeot Expert Sport.
The latest van to adopt a sporty makeover to rival the Ford Transit MS-RT and Vauxhall Vivaro GS, the Expert Sport’s cosmetic updates are inspired by the Peugeot 9X8, the manufacturer’s contender in the World Endurance Championship and at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
On sale from April, the Peugeot Expert Sport is based on the top-rung Asphalt trim but benefits from a series of sporty modifications inside and out, plus a host of optional extras included as standard.
Aesthetically, the Expert Sport is offered in two base colourways – Ice White and Titanium Grey – in a nod to the livery of the 9X8 and is distinguished by ‘Sport’ decals, grille accents, badging and roof spoiler dipped in Kryptonite green, the signature shade of Peugeot Sport.
In addition to the spoiler, the beefier bodywork adds a reshaped rear bumper, side skirts and a reprofiled front lip spoiler. It also gets black-coat 18-inch alloy wheels with Nankang tyres ensuring the Sport stands out against standard Expert models.
Inside, the Expert Sport features water repellent faux leather seats with ‘Sport’ embossing and Kryptonite green stitching, while it gets the optional extra ‘Comfort Pack’ as standard too. This includes dual-zone climate control, keyless go, wireless smartphone charging, heated leather steering wheel and heated drivers’ seat.
It also makes use of a 10-inch touchscreen with integrated satellite navigation, front and rear park assist and blind-spot detection.
The Peugeot Expert Sport – which comes as either a panel van or crew van - is available with a choice of powertrains, either a 178bhp 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesel or as 75kWh for 100bhp at 270Nm of torque. Range is a WLTP combined 209 miles on a full charge.
