New small vans from Citroen, Peugeot and Vauxhall revealed!

New small vans from Citroen, Peugeot and Vauxhall revealed!

Citroen vans, Peugeot vans and Vauxhall vans have all revealed new small vans at the same time, Vansdirect takes a look at the new Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo 2018 vans!

New Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo vans

Three new van reveals on the same day? That's because the three new vans are all based on the same platform, with all three brands now members of the PSA Group. The Vauxhall Combo has ended its collaboration with the Fiat Doblo Cargo small van and instead shares a platform with two mainstays of the small van segment in the form of the Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner vans, each distinguished primarily by the different brand specific fronts and modified interiors. The new Citroen Berlingo also bears a striking resemblance to the Citroen Dispatch medium van, whereas the same can be said for the new Peugeot Partner and its resemblance to the Peugeot Expert van.

Load capacities of Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo vans

As you may have guessed with the three new vans based on the same platform, they all boast similar functional capabilities. All are available in two models, with 3.3 cubic metres of load capacity on standard models and 4.4 cubic metres on longer models and payloads ranging from 625kg to one tonne. The three new small vans all have the ability to accommodate two Euro pallets between the wheel arches, whilst all models are available with three abreast seating and a hatch in the bulkhead allowing items with load lengths up to 3440mm long to be carried.

Engines of Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo vans

Vauxhall vans have yet to officially reveal what powertrains the new Vauxhall Combo van will be available with, however you'd be surprised if they didn't follow the suit of the Berlingo and Partner vans, with 110ps and 130ps 1.2-litre petrol options, a 130ps 1.5-litre diesel engine and 1.6-litre 75ps and 100ps diesel options. The new vans will be available with both a six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Technology for Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo vans

Technology with heavily feature on each of the new small vans, with a particular emphasis placed on safety. There will be a host of driver assistance systems available, including: Lane Keep Assist, Hill Descent Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert with pedestrian detection, automatic cruise control, driver drowsiness alerts, speed sign recognition and a warning system if the van exceeds its payload. There's also the infotainment systems offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with navigation through the eight-inch colour touchscreen available on each of the new vans.
