The Mitsubishi L200 has been around for over 30 years now and is in its fifth generation, which was launched back in 2015.
A five-seat doublecab pickup with attractive styling, the Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian has a competitive standard specification that even beats out many traditional panel vans. Designed to be a working vehicle, the L200 can carry over a tonne and tow up to 3.1-tonnes. Its doublecab layout and additional seating means that it's also a popular choice with company car drivers as it can double as a family car.
Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian economy
Its economy and emissions are both respectable. CO2 emissions are 186g/km - not bad for a pickup - while the 4-cylinder 2.4-litre 180PS diesel engine achieves a commendable 39.8mpg on the combined cycle. As you'd expect from a workhorse pickup, maximum torque sits at 430Nm which means that the Barbarian hits 60mph in just 10.4 seconds with a maximum speed of 111mph.
Providing a load bed that's 1520mm long and 1470mm wide, the L200 Barbarian's payload rating is 1050kg. The pickup itself is 5285mm long, 1815mm wide and 1780mm tall, so you'd better have some space set aside on the drive or the garage!
