Ford Ranger Dominates European Pick-up Sales Charts For A Tenth Successive Year
The Ford Ranger consolidated its status as Europe’s most popular pick-up after topping the sales charts on the continent for a tenth consecutive year in 2024.
Popular with both private and business customers, the Ranger accounted for almost half of all pick-up sales across Europe with a vast 43.6% market share, an increase of 1.3% compared with 2023.
As the best-selling model in the UK, the Ranger commanded a 52.4% market share of all British pick-up sales in 2024.
In all, Ford shifted 60,400 Rangers on the continent, a 4% increase year-on-year.
The positive figures come as Ford readies its latest evolution of the flat-bed favourite; the Ranger Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV).
The Ranger PHEV has been developed to demand no compromises with regards to towing, payload and off-road performance. It is available with a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine coupled with a 75kW battery-powered motor generating 277bhp and 697Nm of torque, while it can travel for up to a targeted 26 miles on electric power alone.
The Ranger PHEV also introduces Pro Power Onboard, which enables customers to power up to 6.9kW of tools or electrical equipment directly from the battery.
Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro Europe, said: “Ranger’s decade as Europe’s favourite pickup has been built on a deep understanding of our customers and how they use their trucks – and our all-new Ranger PHEV will use electric power to take the pickup experience to the next level.
“Ranger PHEV combines more torque than ever before, the ability to power high-draw tools and equipment whether on a job site or campsite, and EV-only driving capability for a huge step forward in pickup productivity.”
Production of the 2025 Ford Ranger PHEV has already begun with deliveries set to begin in spring.
