Ford enjoyed a positive start to 2025 across the light commercial vehicle market, with four of the top ten best-selling models coming from the Blue Oval.
Although sales were down across the sector in vehicles of under 3.5 tonnes in weight, Ford bucked the trend with an increase in sales of 3.51% - retaining a large percentage of the market share for the opening month of the year.
Nissan also saw a major increase on sales on a like-for-like basis compared to twelve months ago, with MAN selling twice as many new vans as in January 2024.
Although sales of larger vans on the whole were down, there was noticeable growth in smaller vehicles whilst registrations of Battery Electric Vans also went up compared to the same period last year.
That comes at a time of extensive growth in the BEV market, with more than half of the van models currently on sale in the UK being offered with a zero emissions option as part of the range.
