First Look And Details Of Electric KGM Musso EV Pick-up
KGM has offered a closer look at its new generation Musso EV, which is due to hit the streets later this year as one of the pick-up segment’s first all-electric offerings.
The Korean marque, formerly known as SsangYong, has been busily readying a slew of new models – both passenger and commercial - in the wake of its rebranding to KGM (KG Motors) last year.
Following on from the new Torres and Actyon SUVs, the fresh model represents a major launch for KGM having confirmed plans to turn Musso into its own pick-up sub-brand, thus indicating further models and variations are on the way.
While the Musso EV’s debut complements a growing shift towards electric power across the commercial vehicle industry, KGM has teased a more robust, off-road-focused Musso equipped with an ICE is also in the works.
In the meantime, the 2025 KGM Musso EV is equipped with an 80.6kWh capacity blade battery sourced from BYD driving a 152.kW motor, while the firm claims a range of up to 249 miles (in 2WD mode).
Heavily inspired by the O100 concept showcased in 2024 and bearing the aesthetic hallmarks of the recently-launched Torres EVX, the Musso EV is equipped in its home Korean market with a utility roof rack, 17-inch diamond-cut wheels and adaptive cruise control, while options are set to include all-round 3D-view monitoring for easier manoeuvrability.
The KGM Musso EV represents the latest evolution of the Musso moniker, which first debuted on a large SUV when the erstwhile SsangYong brand was launched in the UK in 1995. It has since gone on to be affixed to KGM’s pick-up offering, currently available on Vansdirect in 2.2-litre diesel guise.
While full details and a UK launch date for the KGM Musso EV are yet to be confirmed, it is expected to reach these shores later this year.
