FIAT Scudo S-Design Adds Dash Of Flair To Mid-Size Van Range
FIAT has become the latest manufacturer to give its mid-size van offering a sporty-themed refresh with the launch of the FIAT Scudo S-Design.
Following on from the Vauxhall Vivaro GS and Peugeot Expert Sport, now a third model in the Stellantis Group’s five-strong line-up of mid-size commercial vehicles is getting the dynamic treatment.
Available with either a diesel or E-Scudo electric powertrain, the Scudo S-Design’s update is broadly limited to cosmetic tweaks and a more generous specification tally.
While the sister efforts from Vauxhall and Peugeot have tapped into their sporting lineage for inspiration with their respective Vivaro GS and Expert Sport models, the Scudo S-Design relies on FIAT Professional’s image of offering models that are robust yet retain a distinct hint of Italian brio.
From the outset, the S-Design is distinguished from other models in the FIAT Scudo range by its striking black on white livery, which includes a diagonal stripe above the rear-axle, a strip along the bonnet and across the side-faring.
It’s worth noting that the four stripes featured on the front doors and above the rear bumper are a nod to FIAT’s former long-serving logo.
Completing the look are 17-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels, while the standard inclusion of the Icon Pack ensures body-coloured bumpers all round.
In addition to the Icon Pack – which also includes front fog lamps and foldable exterior mirrors – the S-Design also features the Winter Pack as standard, which incorporates heated front seats and a heated, leather steering wheel.
Under the bonnet, the FIAT Scudo S-Design can be optioned with a 2.0-litre BlueHDi 178bhp diesel engine or a 75kWh electric powertrain with a 100kW motor generating 134bhp.
FIAT has confirmed the Scudo S-Design will go on sale in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium and Austria, with no word yet on whether it will be converted to right-hand drive for UK sales.
