Farizon SV Hits The UK As New Electric Rival To Ford E-Transit
The first batch of all-new Farizon SV electric vans has landed in the UK ahead of deliveries slated to begin later this spring.
A subsidiary of China’s Geely Holding Group – owner of Volvo, Polestar and Lotus – Farizon represents a brand-new commercial option for UK customers in the fast-growing electric van market.
Fronting Farizon’s arrival on these shores is the SV, which will be offered from launch in L1, L2 and L3 configurations – with dimensions of between 4,990mm and 5,995mm in length - as a rival to the Ford E-Transit, Renault Trafic E-Tech and Volkswagen ID.Buzz Cargo.
In all, eight variants of the Farizon SV comprising different size and battery options will be made available to UK customers when sales commence before the end of next month.
L1 and L2 variants will be offered with 67kWh and 83kWh LFP battery options, while the L3 variant can be specified with either 83kWh or 106kWh powertrains. Farizon claims a range of between 177 and 247 miles on a single charge with a payload of 1,390kg
Though UK specification and pricing is yet to be confirmed, the Farizon SV has already earned a major fillip by receiving a top Platinum safety award from EuroNCAP, placing it as one of the safest vans the organisation has ever tested.
As well as performing strongly during rigorous crash testing, the Farizon SV was also praised for its advanced safety features. These include its innovative drive-by-wire platform – the first of its kind in the van industry – which reduces stopping distance by 10 per cent and allows for increased load capacity, as well as Lane Support Systems (LSS) and Occupant Status Monitoring (OSM).
Tom Carney, Managing Director, Jameel Motors Farizon Auto, said: “Landing the first UK-spec vans at the port sends a strong message to UK retailers and customers: we mean business.
“We introduced ourselves and our plans for the Farizon SV last month, and we’re on track to meet our ambitious timelines.
“The team is already meeting customers, retailers and partners as we prepare for the start of sales in the coming weeks, bringing an exciting new proposition to the UK van market.”
