Happy International Women’s Day!
At Vansdirect, we thought there was no better way to celebrate than to acknowledge the hard work of some of the women in our team.
Meet Emma, Sophie, Kim, and Beverley.
Emma Crump
Customer Service and Finance Co-ordinator
Tell us a little about your role at Vansdirect?
“I am part of the Customer Care Team here at Vansdirect. Our Job Role varies on a daily basis, ranging from sending finance paperwork to customers, storing financial documents and making sure they are all signed correctly, to arranging deliveries, confirmation dates and receiving financial deposits.
We contact customers the day after delivery to make sure the van arrived and all was ok. For vans that are not ready and awaiting delivery, we keep the customer updated regularly with an update so they know what’s happening. Any complaints are dealt with as part of the Vansdirect process, where we liaise with the dealership to resolve these as soon as possible.”
Who inspires you?
“My Team Members here at Vansdirect, because times have been tough in the van world, and we have all had to work together in challenging times to get the results that we have delivered.”
What piece of advice would you give to your 14-year-old self?
“Keep doing what you’re doing - you’re doing good, things will be ok.”
Sophie Witt
Sales Support Executive
Tell us a little about your role at Vansdirect?
“I work within the Sales Support team at Vansdirect, processing daily orders, completing administrative tasks, and supporting the Sales Team each day with any queries they may have.”
Who inspires you?
“My biggest inspiration has got to be my Mum. She has been a hardworking, supportive role model throughout my life. She has taught me kindness, strength, and has always encouraged me to follow my dreams.”
What piece of advice would you give to your 14-year-old self?
“I would tell my 14-year-old self that some situations may feel like they are made to knock you down, but are actually there to make you stronger and shape who you are - so keep working hard and believing in yourself!”
Kim Wilson

Who inspires you?
“My inspiration is the likes of Madonna - a female that reinvented herself over and over and remained current in her role to this day.”
What piece of advice would you give to your 14-year-old self?
“Go out and get what you want life is there for the taking and to be lived. To be successful at life you have to put in the effort to get results and to be fair I have lived by this rule and have had a full successful and happy life with a lot more to come.”
Beverley Clarke
Operations Manager
Tell us a little about your role at Vansdirect?
“As Operations Manager at Vansdirect, I am responsible for the administration teams. When a vehicle is sold, it is handed to admin, and we see it right through the order, finance, and delivery process. In addition to this, we raise batch orders for vehicles, manage our extensive list of stock vehicles, process V5’s and deal with customer and supplier issues. I support my teams and drive results, our focus is always to deliver vehicles in line with our customers’ expectations and exceed their expectations on service levels.”
Who inspires you?
“So many people, but the main person is my dad. He has really struggled with his health over the past 5 years and has been in intensive care in Birmingham twice after having life-saving operations on his heart. He has always been very active, but his last operation has left him very weak and with mobility issues. Through everything he has been through, he has remained so strong and positive and always has a smile on his face. His drive and determination to get things done is inspiring but he can be very stubborn and pushes boundaries on what he should be doing way too often.”
What piece of advice would you give to your 14-year-old self?
“If you believe in yourself, your opportunities will be endless – so stop thinking you are going to fail and stop holding yourself back.”
Celebrating the women who work hard to contribute to our success is important to us. Our business also aims to recognise our hard-working colleagues on a regular basis.
