5 reasons to buy a Vauxhall Movano

5 reasons to buy a Vauxhall Movano

After launching in 2010, the Vauxhall Movano was given a minor upgrade in 2015. The Movano has been given a front-end facelift as well as a range of new engines to enhance efficiency and power.

But why should you buy a Vauxhall Movano van?

The cab

The Vauxhall Movano's cabin is incredibly spacious, both in terms of passenger space and storage space. In fact, there are a seemingly infinite number of compartments, shelves and pockets littered around the cab. It's also rich on features, even doubling up as a mobile office with a work surface as well as cradles for smart devices. Entertainment options are also present in abundance. You have DAB Radio, CD player, Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in sockets. Most important of all? Four cup holders! Where else are you going to keep your coffee?!

A high driving position gives you a great view of the road ahead, while the seats are incredibly comfortable. This is a good thing given that such a large van is likely to undertake many longer journeys.

The load area

Vauxhall have a large van that will cater for most requirements. At its smallest the Movano's load volume is 7.8 cubic metres, while it can be specified as large as 17 cubic metres. Similarly, payloads range from just under a tonne (996kg) right up to 2254kg. To protect you and your load, a full-height steel bulkhead and tie-down points come as standard.

The drive

Despite being a large van, the Vauxhall Movano is easy to drive. Its steering is light while the handling and brakes are responsive. The Movano is available with a 2.3-litre CDTi diesel engine in 108PS, 125PS, 135PS and 165PS power outputs, as well as front or rear-wheel drive. The more powerful units also have a twin-turbo for improved torque at lower revs.

The long service intervals

In the large vans sector of the market, low lifetime costs are a key factor in purchasing decisions. The Vauxhall Movano has service intervals of 2 years (or 25,000 miles) suggesting that reliability is not a concern for this particular large van.

The conversion options

In Vauxhall's own words, "There's a Vauxhall Movano perfect for every job". And, they aren't lying. The list of conversion options is seemingly endless. There's everything from Chassis cabs, crew cabs and platform cabs to tippers, dropsides and box vans. It doesn't end there. Vauxhall's approved conversions list includes 44, parcel delivery, welfare, car transporters and refrigerated vans. See, we told you.
