5 reasons to buy a Peugeot Boxer

5 reasons to buy a Peugeot Boxer

The Peugeot Boxer has always been a popular choice within the large panel van sector, being a serious contender alongside the Ford Transit and Mercedes Sprinter vans. Freshly revised back in 2014, the Boxer is continuing to grow in popularity and it's easy to see why.

The Boxer comes in a variety of lengths, heights and widths. It also has a decent select of trims ranging from the base model, right up to the Professional spec which gives a lot of equipment for the price.

Here, Vansdirect takes a look at the top 5 reasons why this large panel van is starting to take the upper hand within the Large LCV market.

Five reasons to buy a Peugeot Boxer

1. Economical engines

The Peugeot Boxer is available in three HDI common diesel engines fitted with an electronic diagnosis system. This system is designed to monitor exhaust emissions. The most popular engine seems to be the 130ps version of the 2.2 litre engine, giving a respectable 42mpg.

2. Attractive, sharp and modern looks

2014 saw the Peugeot Boxer range have a facelift from Peugeot, borrowing styling form the passenger car range. Some of the distinct improvements being the front headlights and chrome floating front grille.

3. Better equipped interior

One of the main highlights for the Boxer is the amount of storage space it has. It contains not one, but two large glove boxes. Further storage can be found within two large door bins, storage space under the seats and guess what, there's even a shelf above the windscreen. Key standard equipment includes reversing sensors which could prove invaluable in avoiding parking accidents.

4. Safety is a key selling point

It might not be as modern as other vans in its class, however safety is key for this Peugeot van. Standard safety kit includes ESP (electronic stability control) with hill start assist, plus ABS brakes with Emergency Brake Assist and a driver's airbag. All this is as standard, so again you're getting a lot of van safety for your money.

5. Reliable and robust

So the Boxer might not be the newest van on the market, but it sure is one of the most reliable. To help maintain the reliability, Peugeot have improved some of its unique features, including a strengthened body and new load bay door mechanism.
