2025 Maxus Deliver 9: Everything You Need To Know

While it may lack the historic kudos of many rivals in the large commercial van (LCV) market space, such as the Ford Transit, VW Crafter and Mercedes Sprinter, the Maxus Deliver 9 has positioned itself as a successful disrupter to the established van order over the past decade
Available in an array of bodystyles – including mini-bus and Luton van – and coming with the option of a diesel engine or an electric powertrain, the Maxus Deliver 9 complements its wide choice of variants with practical load bays, generous kit levels and competitive pricing.
Get the lowdown on why the Maxus Deliver 9 is an attractive proposition for anyone in the market for a new large van.
Is Maxus A New Van Brand?
Yes and no. The Maxus moniker first appeared on the road way back in 2004 when it was affixed to the LDV Maxus, a medium and large commercial van (MCV and LCV) manufactured in Birmingham under the guise of the former British Leyland-owned marque.
However, LDV’s collapse in 2008 led to the manufacturer’s intellectual property being purchased by Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (better known as SAIC, owners of the MG brand). As a result of this, SAIC established Maxus as a commercial vehicle brand in its own right.
Since then, Maxus has developed a foothold in the automotive market on a huge global scale and is considered a household name in its native China, while it has a well-known visible presence in Russia, South America, Asia and now Europe too.

The Maxus Deliver 9 certainly gets the basics of what makes an effective large van spot on.
In diesel guise, the Deliver 9 is available in L3 and Crew configurations, with the former able to offer variations of either H2 or H3 height limit. As an L3 vehicle, the Deliver 9 measures a substantial 5,940mm in length putting it on a par with rivals.
This allows for a cavernous cargo area (between 11500 and 12300 litres), a spacious load bay that is easily accessed via 1570mm 236-degree aperture at the rear and a side door opening of 1269mm, enough for a Euro pallet to be loaded.
The electric Maxus eDeliver 9 range is broadened out to include an L2 (H2 or H3) variant alongside L3 and Crew versions. With a 9700-litre cargo area, the eDeliver 9 doesn’t sacrifice load volume for its electric mechanicals.
Moreover, the Maxus Deliver 9 is available in a range of conversion options, including Tipper, Milk Float, Crew Van and Luton Van.
The Maxus Deliver 9 Minibus can be specified as 12-seater or 16-seater with a diesel engine or as a 14-seater in electric guise.
2025 Maxus Deliver 9: Engine, Performance & Electric
- 2.0-litre Diesel (163bhp)
- 77kWh Electric (150kW, 201bhp)
- 88kWh Electric (150kW, 201bhp)
The Maxus Deliver 9 is available as either a diesel or electric-powered vehicle.
Only a single conventional engine option is available – a 2.0-litre turbodiesel – while you can choose between two different sized batteries with the eDeliver 9.
The 2.0-litre turbodiesel generates 163bhp and pulls well with 375Nm of torque at 1500-2400rpm. The engine is Euro6 compliant, while the Deliver 9 can be specified in both front and rear-wheel drive configurations depending on your cargo hauling needs.
The two choices of battery with the eDeliver 9 is reflective of the different range capabilities on offer, rather than power.
Available with either a 77kWh or 88kWh capacity battery, both offer identical performance (150kW/ 201bhp), but the former is quoted with a combined maximum range of 186 miles, while the latter will cover up to 211 miles.
Maxus says it is possible to charge the eDeliver 9 from 5% to 100% in 51 minutes.
