2025 Ford Transit Courier: Everything You Need To Know

When it comes to vans, size definitely matters. That’s not to say great vans can’t come in small packages though, as demonstrated by the Ford Transit Courier.
While it may not take up as much space on the road compared with other small commercial vans (SCV) such as the Citroen Berlingo, Renault Kangoo or even the Ford Transit Connect, the Courier’s slighter external dimensions have been maximised to ensure Tardis-like capacity space inside.
Ideal for nipping in an out of traffic while driving through urban environments and squeezing into the challenging parking spaces, the Transit Courier therefore makes perfect sense if you need a van that is practical, yet easy to drive.
Better still, it exists largely in a class of its own since the similarly sized Citroen Nemo/Peugeot Bipper/Fiat Qubo trio were discontinued, while – unlike the Connect – it is also available as a pure electric model.

What Is The Difference Between A Transit Courier and Transit Connect?
If you know your Transits, then you’ll be aware that there are currently four models utilising the esteemed moniker on sale right now.
Logically, the different versions – Transit, Transit Custom, Transit Courier and Transit Courier – are all differentiated by their size, from largest to smallest respectively.
However, it may not have escaped your notice that the Courier and Connect do not appear all that different in size to the naked eye, especially when viewed in profile.
The statistics do back this up to a certain extent – the Transit Courier’s length is 4.3m, the Transit Connect is 4.4m, though the latter can be had as an extended 4.8m version. Put simply, while the Courier is the length of a Ford Fiesta, the Connect is the length of a Ford Focus.
With a load bay of 2900 litres versus 3100 litres between the Courier and Connect, there is an even a small difference between the two models in terms of cargo capacity too.
It therefore makes the Ford Transit Courier an ideal urban van that in terms of manoeuvrability without sacrificing too much space.
2025 Ford Transit Courier: Dimensions, Trims & Body Styles
- Length: 4337mm
- Height: 1827mm to 1850mm
- Width: 1876mm
- Wheelbase: 2692mm
- Payload: 613kg to 698kg
- Cargo Capacity: 2900 litres
The Ford Transit Courier is available as a single size, with the only variation coming in terms of height depending on whether you specify a model with 15-inch or 17-inch wheels.
As mentioned, the Transit Courier and Connect differ very little in terms of outright length and thanks to a short, bluff (not to mention distinctive SUV-inspired) front-end and overhang, the same applies to the loading bay too.
With 2,900 litres available and in a well-designed space - as demonstrated by the slender wheelarch housing - the Transit Courier maximises its capacity to belie its overall dimensions.
In addition to the standard cargo length of 1.8m, the Transit Courier has the option of a hatch in the bulkhead which extends the length to 2.6m for particularly large items.
With a payload capacity of almost 700kg – depending on which trim and engine you select – the Transit Courier will still swallow two Euro pallets, while the wide opening aperture is enhanced by rear doors swinging a full 180-degrees.
Better still, go for the electric E-Transit Courier and you’ll benefit from having a further 44 litres of cargo space in the ‘frunk’ (front trunk).
