2025 FIAT Doblo: Everything You Need To Know

Nobody knows small vans better than Stellantis, the American-Italo mega-brand that counts several of motoring’s biggest players among its fleet of manufacturers, including Citroen, Peugeot, FIAT, Chrysler and Vauxhall.
In fact, when FIAT-Chrysler merged with PSA (Peugeot/Citroen), which in turn owned Vauxhall, to create Stellantis, it was inheriting a big portion of the commercial segment at the same time.
The FIAT Doblo counts itself among Stellantis’ 12-strong LCV line-up across four brands, so what helps the Italian cousin stand out?
Well, apart from some modest cosmetic changes, there isn’t a lot to split it from three other models in the Stellantis fold – but that doesn’t mean it is worth overlooking...
Does The FIAT Doblo Look Familiar?
Indeed, while FIAT already had a decent foothold in commercials, the addition of Peugeot, Citroen and Vauxhall – three more brands with sizeable van market shares – to the stable simply broadened this even further.
As a result of this, it made logical business sense to spin models for each of the four brands from a single platform, which is why the FIAT Doblo bears a striking resemblance to the Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo.
The Doblo itself has been around 2000 and was actually developed and built alongside the sister Opel/Vauxhall Combo before the German-British marque was consumed by PSA. No the two models are siblings again.
But with such a close relation to three other popular models, what makes the FIAT Doblo stand out?
2025 FIAT Doblo: Dimensions, Trims & Body Styles
Length: 4403mm (L1), 4753mm (L2)
Height: 1796mm (L1), 1812mm (L2)
Wheelbase: 2785mm (L1), 2975 (L2)
Payload: 939-984kg (Turbodiesel), 709-781kg (Electric)
Cargo Capacity: 3300mm (L1), 3900 (L2)
Towing Capacity: 1000kg (Turbodiesel), 750kg (Electric)
It is a clear a lot of thought has gone into maximising the space available to the dimensions of the FIAT Doblo, which ranks among the most practical in the LCV class.
Available in L1 and L2 configurations, the standard Doblo measures 4403mm, rising to 4753mm for the longer version. Coupled with a generous wheelbase, the Doblo offers a cavernous 3300mm in standard trim, rising to 3900mm for the L2.
Better still, opt for the upper Plus and Primo trims and the Doblo allows for three people to sit up front, while it also features a hatch in the bulkhead that when opened and the passenger seat folded allows for an extra 1.3m in cargo length. Perfect for swallowing long items like timber or furnishings.
The diesel-powered Doblo can also manage a sizeable maximum payload of up to 984kg, though this reduces to a payload of up to 781kg for the e-Doblo.
In addition to the two and three-seater options, the Doblo Crew Van can accommodate five people and is available only in standard trim. Twin sliding doors are only available on L2 specification models.
2025 FIAT Doblo: Engine, Performance & Drivetrains
1.5-litre Turbodiesel (101bhp, 129bhp)
52kWh Electric (134bhp)
The FIAT Doblo is available with the choice of either diesel or electric powertrains, the latter known as e-Doblo.
In ICE guise, the Doblo offers two versions of its 1.5-litre Multijet turbodiesel - the base model generating 101bhp and the flagship offering a punchier 129bhp. Whichever engine you choose, expect plus-50mpg on a combined cycle.
In diesel guise, the biggest difference between the 100 and 130 as they are known – other than the power outputs – are the transmissions, with the former equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox, whereas the latter gets an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Opt for the electric e-Doblo and you’ll see a marked reduction in running costs, not to mention benefit from an array of tempting incentive opportunities, including congestion charge costs, taxation and servicing.
The 52kWh battery generates 134bhp and 270Nm of torque, placing it on a similar par to that of the more powerful 1.5-litre turbodiesel. Of course, this torque is linear, with no need to click through the gears, ensuring progress on the road – particularly in stop-start urban environments – feels brisk and fizzy.
FIAT quotes an official WLTP Range figure of 213 miles on a single charge, increasing the e-Doblo’s appeal if you spend much of your time completing fairly similar routes or require a last-mile delivery solution.
Using a rapid charger ensures a 0-80% charge in 30mins, while more conventional 11kW charge takes just over five hours to reach the full 100% battery.
2025 FIAT Doblo: Specification & Features
